Most of you who know me, know that I am all about girl power. And, I've read some very troubling news today on that subject. Several articles state that a new law in Afghanistan is a step back for women's rights, and some even go as far as to say that this new Afghani law legalizes inter-marital rape in the Shiite community. This law also requires women to ask for permission from a male relative before leaving the house! I like to believe that the United States sends troops (TO INCLUDE MY HUSBAND!!!) to Afghanistan to nurture a young democracy... Hmmm, I thought democracies were all about equal rights?
