US Coast Guard Barque Eagle

The USCG Barque Eagle docked on River Street in Savannah for the weekend, and my parents and I took my nephew Jack to check it out. Although it was super hot, the trip was worth it. The USCG boat is 295 feet long, has three masts, and dates back to the 19th century. Today, the boat is used to train future Coast Guard officers and has a crew of 220, including 150 USCG cadets. Settled?!?

Brian and I are getting settled, albeit on other sides of the world. I've practically finished unpacking here at the townhouse. I still need to hang some pictures and put the bed skirt on in the master bedroom...which is why there are no photos from that end of the house! Thank goodness friends and family were able to help this pregnant lady the day the movers came and also with the unpacking that came later! Here are some photos from the new place:

Now, Brian has also unpacked and settled into his Korean dorm room...though, it does look a little more like a college dorm room! I know you think he has to share one room with another person and use a community bathroom, but he doesn't. Check out his space:

Mudfest Boryeong, South Korea

Every summer, the city of Boryeong hosts a mud festival in South Korea. The mud is apparently spa quality and is used as an ingredient in many cosmetics. At the festival, mud is dumped in big vats for festival goers to cover themselves. Brian attended this year's mudfest and here are some photos:

Independence Day Festivities

Mom, Dad, and I celebrated July 4th with family friends. We had a huge barbeque feast at Jan and Gary's, and then headed out to their dock for fishing and relaxing. Here are some photos:

Birthday Weekend

Since moving back to the southeast, I've had the pleasure of seeing my niece and nephews three times in the last month and a half! That is a record after spending the last several years abroad. We celebrated Kate's 1st birthday and Ben's 2nd birthday this past weekend. Here are some photos:
