Anheuser-Busch Tour

While Brian's parents were visiting, we headed over to the original Anheuser-Busch brewery for a tour.  The place is really like a campus with buildings from the mid-1800s to recent.  There were 53 breweries in St. Louis before prohibition, but only Anheuser-Busch was still in business when prohibition ended.

First stop on the tour was the Clydesdale's:

Quite a fancy brass light fixture for the horses' stable

front door to the stables

some sort of beer aging going on in these 20 ft diameter, 60 ft long cylinders (the cylinders were stacked 4 high)

I think this was in the mash house

check out the fancy light fixtures and banisters in here

This elephant was the mascot for one of the yeast products that Anheuser-Busch made during prohibition

This is Renard the Fox.  He was the mascot of an malt drink that they made during prohibition.

Renard again (he is eating a chicken wing and drinking "Bevo")

Ruthie is starting to have enough hair for a ponytail!

Santa came:

This is a traditional Korean dress or Hanbok dress, and Ruthie is finally big enough to wear it!
